POPPA EARLE'S TAILGATE FESTIVAL 2025!
EVENT OVERVIEW
Welcome to Poppa Earle's Tailgate Festival 2025! This is a FREE entry event to the public so everyone is invited! We will be charging an optional $20.00 ticket charge (food charge) that you can purchase at the gates for all patrons that want to try all the amazing food our cookoff teams are preparing... All the proceeds for the food charge are being donated to the Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank that services 11 parishes in the area in helping people in need get fed. The more money we can help raise the more people we can feed so come out and support a great cause!
This will be a 1-day event with a 2-part cookoff with multiple trophies and prizes given out. Anyone may enter the cookoff whether a business, a local tailgate or just a group of friends that enjoy cooking! It will be a $200 entry fee per team to enter the contest, and each team will be required to make two dishes... Their best gumbo dish that will be judged on by our celebrity guest panel and also their best tailgate dish that will be served to the public and judged on by the crowds with prizes and awards handed out to the top finishers in both categories. This will be the ULTIMATE Tailgate Cookoff that will test your skills! We will be combining these finishes to crown The BEST TAILGATE OF THE SOUTH at the end of the day with final prizes and awards handed out. This event is limited spots for teams to compete, and it is on a first come first serve basis so once we reach our spot limit, there are no more spots given. This will be an all-day event with a 25-foot TV screen set up for game day watching, live bands, DJ, full bar, kid's games, awesome food and a great time! LET'S COOK FOR A CAUSE TOGETHER! The more we all help promote, share and spread the word, the more money we can raise for a great cause!
WE ARE COOKING FOR A CAUSE! The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank
Every dollar we raise can provide up to 3 meals! The Greater Baton Rouge Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that solicits, procures, inventories, and warehouses donated food and other products. This food is then distributed to a variety of community agencies such as pantries, meal sites, homes, shelters, and soup kitchens that serve the people in need.
Our mission is to feed the hungry in Baton Rouge and the surrounding parishes by providing food and educational outreach through faith-based and other community partners. With community support, we have served the hungry in our 11-parish service area for 40 years.

Cancelation Policy: Cancel before 9/15/2025 to receive full refund. Cancel after 9/15/2025 for half refund. Cancelation within 72 hours of event receives no refund.
