Crawfish Etouffee Ingredients & Instructions

   

Prep Time: 30 minutes

Cook Time:  1 Hour

Serving Size.  4-6 servings

 

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 bell pepper (chopped)
  • 2 celery stalks (chopped)
  • 3 cloves of garlic (chopped)
  • 1 bay leaves
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire Sauce
  • 4 cup tomato sauce
  • 1 tablespoon hot sauce
  • 3 cups seafood stock
  • 1 pound peeled and deveined crawfish
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 4 cups cooked long-grain white rice
  • Poppa Earle’s Cajun Seasoning (to taste)


Directions

Place large pot on stove on medium high heat. Add butter and Sautee onions, celery, and green bell pepper.  Cook until onions become translucent, about 5 minutes then add garlic and cook for additional 2-3 minutes.  Add tomato sauce, bay leaves and crawfish and sauté additional 5 minutes. Add the seafood stock, stir, cover and let simmer for 45 minutes.  Add Worcestershire, hot sauce, and parsley. Season with Poppa Earle’s Seasoning.
